August 3, 1942 - June 10, 2022
On Friday, June 10th, 2022, Jack Luteyn passed away in the Abbotsford General Hospital at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jean of 55 years.
Jack was born in Krabbendijk, The Netherlands on August 3, 1942. He immigrated to Canada with his family in March 1953. Together with his father and brother he started C. Luteyn & Sons Garbage Disposal in 1963. He retired after 24 years. Throughout his retirement years, he kept busy helping wherever he was needed, always willing to lend a hand.
Jean was the love of Jack's life. They were inseparable; loving and supporting each other through everything. Jack loved spending time with family. He was always interested in what his sons were doing, calling daily to see how their day had gone and dropping in to visit often. He was so proud of his grandkids and found joy in spoiling them. He would often come to their events to cheer them on and when he came to visit it was rarely without bringing them treats.
Jack will be remembered for his friendly nature. He always had a grin on his face and time to talk. He was humble, generous, and dearly loved by family and friends.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife, Jean of 55 years, 3 children, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Jim & Debbie (Samantha & Michael Haan [Jacob & Daxton], Rebecca, Matthew, Joshua, Natasha & Benjamin); Steve & Pauline (Nicole, Victoria); Doug & Wilhelmina (Bradley, Ashley & Christoph Van Maren[Liam & Emma], Stephen, Michael).
Jack is predeceased by his father, Cornelis Luteyn (1989) and his mother, Maria Alaksa (1992).
Special thanks to the staff at the Abbotsford General Hospital for their compassionate care of our dear husband and father.
