Goertzen Isaac (Ike). April 19, 1933 -

August 21, 2013. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ike Goertzen at Cascade Hospice after a brief battle with cancer. Ike was born in Bassano, Alberta and with his family also lived for some time in Oliver, BC before moving to Chilliwack, BC. He loved gospel, old-time country and bluegrass music. He attended many gospel quartet concerts and bluegrass festivals. Ike also loved watching hockey and the Toronto Blue Jays. He enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and his pride was completing and framing one that contained 10,000 pieces. He enjoyed driving. Especially the years he spent trucking and the trips taken across Canada, to Alaska and various hot springs. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Sarah, his brothers Peter, Jacob and Gary and by his sister Helen.

Survived by his loving family. His children Judy (Dave), Barb, Katie (Al) and Tony (Carol), his 7 grandchildren and his 2 great-grandchildren. His brothers John (Louise), Charlie (Edna) and his sisters Maggie and Nettie (Julius). Special thank you to Dr Lothian, Dr Bull and the staff and volunteers at Cascade Hospice for their wonderful care. We rejoice in knowing that he went home to be with his heavenly Father. Service to be held at Chilliwack Evangelical Missionary Church at 9310 Williams St, Chilliwack on August 28, 2013 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Chilliwack Hospice Society.
