Iris Marie Penner

August 21, 1931 - January 4, 2023
Iris passed away peacefully on Jan 4th, in her 92nd year. A resident of Chilliwack since 1956.
Mom was born Iris Marie Avery in Bassano, Alberta on August 21 1931, the second child of James and Sarah Avery.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Pete in 2008. Mom was also predeceased by her one brother Jim,
and sisters Irene and Ivy. She is survived by Son's Bob (Marian) Chilliwack, Glen (Evelyn) 100Mile House, Russ (Darlene) Kamloops, Lloyd (Kat) Sorrento, Her daughters Kathy Valenta (Ken Neathway) of Salmo, and Darlene of Chilliwack. Seventeen grand children, twenty-seven great grand children, and one great, great grand daughter. Also survived by her sister Margaret Cavanah of Castlegar, and good friend Robert Peel of Chilliwack.
Service of remembrance will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home Chilliwack, Monday Jan 16 at 1 P.M. A long time member of both the Royal Canadian Legion and Army Navy Air Force Veterans of Canada a reception will be held at the ANAVET'S on Yale Rd following the service, at 2 P.M. Memorial.
