April 17, 2011

April 13, 1931 – April 17, 2011

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Irine Oesch at the Cascade Hospice on April 17th, 2011. She was born on the family farm in Handel, Saskatchewan on April 13th, 1931. Mom’s goal was to reach her 80th birthday and she did.

She is predeceased by her parents Hank and Addie Hynne, little sister Julia and a baby girl.

Irene is lovingly remembered by her children Larry (Moneca Gentray) Oesch, Jean Oesch, Garry (Karin) Oesch, Dennis Oesch, Donna (Darren Burt) Oesch, Barbara (Brian) Carr, Gerald (Tracey) Oesch, brother Bob (Ethel) Hynne, sister Judy (Rodney) Rhinehart, brother Carl (Sandra) Hynne and their families. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Alvin and Irene married on December 15th, 1953. She moved to BC in 1955 with Alvin and their young son Larry to start a new life. Then continued to add to their family 6 more children. When her kids got older, she then went to work at Kel-tone Cleaners. She worked there for many years.

In her later years she travelled with her family. Her trip of a lifetime was an Alaskan cruise with her cousin Betty Price.

Irene was a loving and caring woman devoted to her family. She was very giving and she would put the needs of others before herself. Family meant so much to her. She always lit up when she saw her great-grandbabies.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hamilton, Dr. Bull, the nursing staff at CGH, the staff and volunteers at Cascade Hospice for their care and support. Also, her many friends and the staff at Cascade Manor.
