Hulda “Hilda” Ehlert, late of Chilliwack, BC, passed away November 27, 2007 at Chilliwack General Hospital, age 92. She was born October 12, 1915 in Minsk, Russia.
Hilda had lived in this area for 51 years. Hilda was an extraordinary cook and baker. She was a devoted homemaker. A pillar of strength, and a woman who showed compassion to her family and all who knew her.
Hilda is survived by sons: Hugo (Helen), Heinz (Linda), and Siegfried; daughters: Ingrid (Alfred) Hubner, Hildegard (Kevan) Sinclaire; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband Gustav in 1989; granddaughter Darlene Gott–schalk; six sisters and three brothers. Rest In Peace.
A traditional funeral service and burial was held Monday, December 3, 2007 at Henderson’s Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Peter Paluch officiating. Interment at Vedderview Gardens Cemetery. Casket bearers were Heinz Ehlert, Siegfried Ehlert, Hugo Ehlert, Roger Hubner, Rick Wabischewich and Harry Doering.
