Hubert Van den Dorpel passed away peacefully at Tabor Home in Abbotsford, BC at the age of 91 on May 11, 2007. Born April 19, 1916 in Yerseke, Netherlands. Hubert was the youngest son of Marinus and Cornelia Van den Dorpel.
Hubert immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his wife and family and worked a number of jobs before taking up farming. Hubert was involved in many church activities having served many years as a deacon and elder at Bethel N.R.C. Hubert was also involved with Timothy Christian School as a director and bus driver, and was a board member at Sunset Manor for a number of years.
Hubert was predeceased by his wife in 2000, infant granddaughter Suzie in 1971, grandson Marty in 1986, and great grandson Bradley in 1994. He is survived by his daughter Susan (Len) Visscher; his sons, Martin (Rene) Van den Dorpel, Frank (Nella) Van den Dorpel, and Casey (Brenda) Van den Dorpel; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and the Netherlands.
