On March 11, 2019 Herman passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness.

Herman was born in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. After  completing school he worked in his fathers meat cutting business. He

later studied and became a licensed meat cutter. January of 1965 he bought his own  business in Friesland, and served the public

there for many years. He emigrated to Canada with his family in 1976. He became the owner of Four Oaks Delicatessen and Meats, which he owned until his retirement in 2002.

He was predeceased by both his parents, and his siblings Ali, Gerrie, and Hermien.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gerda Wilbrink, his daughter Wilma (Errett), and sons Herman (Wenna), Marcel (Debra), and Gerald, 15 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

The funeral was held Friday, 12 pm at Bethel Netherlands Reformed Congregation with Rev P. Van Ruitenburg officiating.

Internment was at Chilliwack Cemetery,  followed by coffee at the church hall.
