In His appointed time, the Lord called home the precious husband to Martha Kobes (Veldman) for 58 years.
Beloved Dad to Florine & John Breukelman, Jackie & John Vanderwel, James & Renee Kobes (Dick), Herb & Sandy Kobes (Patterson), Richard & Krista Kobes (Werkman) and Barb Kobes.
Much loved Grandpa and Grandpapa to 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Born in Zevenhuizen, Groningen, the Netherlands. Immigrated to Tabor Alberta in 1952, moving westward to Port Kells, Lynden, Washington and eventually to Greendale, Yarrow and Chilliwack.
He was a quiet man but also mischievous and we loved him for it! Being a Grandpa brought so much joy, but becoming a GrandPapa was the ice cream on his apple pie!
Predeceased by his parents; 4 brothers and twin sister and 2 grandchildren. Survived by sisters Rosalie Biesbroek and Jane Jongs and 'brother' Sjoerd Muller.
Memorial service was live streamed from the Canadian Reformed church at Chilliwack on April 13, 2021.
