Herbert passed away Feb. 19, 2008 at the Waverly Nursing Home in Chilliwack, age 100 years.
He was born on March 2, 1907 in Swindon, England.
Herbert is survived by his son Bob (Fay) of North Vancouver; granddaughter: Kelly; grandson: Bob; three great- grandsons: Mitchell, Andy and Aaron, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife May in 1999; brothers: Bob, Jim, Harry, George; and sister: Rose.
Herbert served on the Regina Fire Department from 1929 – 1964. He retired as a Captain to Yarrow B.C. in 1966. He had a life-long involvement in farming. He loved to read, and he was a “handy man” who enjoyed fixing and repairing things. Herbert was a very helpful man and a great father.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Pentland officiating.
The family wishes to thank Sheila and all staff at the Waverly for all they did for Herbert.
