(April 22, 1950 - June 22, 2008)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing husband, father, Opa, son, brother and friend Henry Peter Nickel.

Henry leaves to mourn his loving wife, Annegret, of 37 years.

He is survived by his sons and their families Shelby, Carla, Erik & Kyle and Lance, Carolyn, Tyson & Lincoln. Henry is also survived by his mother Katie Nickel, his sister Linda Janzen (Glen) and his brother Hardy Nickel (Jane).

He was predeceased by his father Jakob Nickel. Henry will be deeply missed by many relatives and friends. There was nothing more important to Henry than his family and his four little men. His legacy lives on in them forever.

Henry brought out the best in everyone he came in contact with.

He was honoured by many for his community efforts and enjoyed serving as an RCMP Auxiliary Officer, was a member of the Atchelitz Farmers Institute for over 30 years and was a dedicated member of the Chilliwack Fire Department. Henry was instrumental in the organization of the Chilliwack youth soccer association annual tournaments. Among his passions were coaching and refereeing soccer, contributing regularly to Thursday night poker games and travelling with friends and family. In Henry’s spare time he operated Dime Dairy.

A celebration of Henry’s life will be held at the Greendale First Mennonite Church at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2008. “Happy Hour” to follow at the Atchelitz Hall on Lickman Road.

In lieu of flowers, Henry would appreciate donations be made to the BC Children’s Hospital.
