“Hank”

On Saturday, June 18th, 2011 Hank Kroeker passed away unexpectedly at home. He was in the company of friends and family. Hank was born on June 11th, 1943 in Rosenbloom, Ukraine.

Hank and his family moved to Greendale, BC in 1948. He moved to a dairy farm in Rosedale in 1956 and lived there for 40 years. After high school graduation he attended Olds Agricultural College in Alberta, where he and his friends had a blast!

Hank and Mary were married on June 24th, 1967. Together they raised their three children on the farm. After he retired from farming Hank enjoyed socializing and tinkering in his shop. If there was something that Hank couldn’t fix, it was probably unfixable.

Hank is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary, his two daughters; Paula (Jeff) Brown and Leah (Phil) Efford, five grandchildren; Sebastian and Elijah Brown, Abigail, Eleanor and William Efford, and his two nephews Danny and Charlie Simmonds. He was predeceased by his brother John, his sister Betty, his father and mother, Albert and Elizabeth Kroeker and recently his son Vincent Kroeker.

Hank was one of a kind! His love for life, his smile, sense of humour, and wit will be remembered by all who knew him. Throughout Hank’s life, he felt truly blessed with great friends and a wonderful family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 27th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chilliwack United Church.
