John Oram died peacefully in his sleep in the presence of his family on November 7th 2007. He is survived by wife Dorothy of 62 years, children Daphne (Doug) of Welland Ontario, Eunice Hillary of Montreal Quebec, Ivor (Shirley) of Toronto, John (Judy) of Ferndale Washington, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, brother Roy (Kathy) of Pender Island. Predeceased by grandchild Christine Des Lauriers in 1992, Brother Ron and Sister Betty. John was a Legion Member, Senior and Active member of the Elks “Royal Order,” a former President of the Canadian Industrial Management Association, and an Active Duty Second World War Veteran.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 16th 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Rev. John Sovereign and Rev. Charlie Lenz officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Thomas Anglican Church would be appreciated.
