It is with deepest sorrow that we must say farewell to our father. Henry Hobek was 83 years old and passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Our father lived his life with respect, courage, and honor. He was never afraid of hard work and spent many years proving it for the sake of his family. He treated whomever he came across with respect and integrity. His many years of successful business ownership bear witness to that.
The love of his life was his wife, and our mother, Luise Hobek. They were married for 53 years and our father made sure he was around long enough to witness the 53rd year before he had to leave.
We thank him for all the hockey games he had to get up early to take us to. For all the hard work he did to ensure that we had all that we needed. For his foresight to ensure that we all had opportunities to be successful in life. For always being there for us when we needed him. For all the love and caring and devotion he showed to his family always. For showing us every day, how to live with dignity and respect for others, and ourselves. Everything he did, and all the sacrifices he made, he did out of love for his family. We are so very grateful to have known a man like my father and so very sad that he had to leave.
