Helen Kroeker (nee Szasz) went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17th at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 85 years.

Helen was born on July 23, 1926 on her parent’s homestead in Spiritwood, SK. She moved to BC and married Howard Bird in 1949. Three children were born to Helen & Howard; Allen, Laura, and David. In 1959, Howard fell ill and Helen was left a widow. She went to work at Fraser Mills to support her family. There she met Isbrand Kroeker and they married on June 26, 1965.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Isbrand “Randy” Kroeker; children, Allen (Anna) Bird, Laura Tetrault, and David Bird; grandchildren, Jean-Michel (Karina) Tetrault, Real Tetrault, and Prisca (Colin) Bird-Beynon; brothers, Charles Szasz of Spiritwood SK and James (Lorraine) Szasz of Ladysmith BC; and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25 from 7 to 9 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 26 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home; Pastor Hoxie of Faith Baptist Church officiating.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Chow and Karen Driediger and the entire staff at the Chilliwack Hospital for all their assistance.

Memorial donations may be made in Helen’s name to the Salvation Army Care & Share Centre, 45746 Yale Rd, Chilliwack V2P 2N4.
