Heinz passed away on May 29, 2022 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 87. He was born December 30, 1934 in Berlin, Germany. He is survived by his daughter Susie, son Robert (Bobby) and daughter-in-law - Karin, and 6 grandchildren, Elly, Konrad, Erik, Robert, Nadia and Mia. Heinz was predeceased by his wife, Inge, married for 50 years.
Heinz adventured to Canada on his own in 1955 from Berlin, Germany. In 1956, his girlfriend Inge followed him to Canada and they were married in 1957. The couple settled in Ottawa and started a family. The family moved to Chilliwack in 1970 seeking better weather. He was the owner /operator of Chilliwack Mechanical Ltd. (Plumbing and heating contractor). Heinz was involved with the Chilliwack Rotary Club and the Salvation Army (Chilliwack ) soup kitchen and was a member of the LDS Church.
A graveside service will be held on September 28, 2022, 2:00 pm at Chilliwack Cemeteries. Service will be presided by Angus Hagerty. Memorial donations may be mad to the Salvation Army (Chilliwack).
