Hector J. BONNEAU

Hector Bonneau passed away at age 73 years on September 8, 2004 at Snowden Hospice in Kamloops, BC after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in 1931 in Debden, Sask., he was the second of four children. From the age of 14, he worked at various jobs throughout Western Canada. Most notably Hector was a stationary engineer working at Chilliwack General Hospital, York Farms, Dairyland and finally, at CFB Chilliwack where he retired as Acting Chief Engineer.

He was predeceased by his wife, Florence; sons, Edward and Tony and daughters, Cecillis and Theresa.

He is survived by his children, Kelvin (Liz), Karen, Louise, and Annette; grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Darbee and expected grandson, H. J. Jr; brothers, Maurice and Patrick. Hector will be remembered by numerous relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

Hector was very active in national and local Métis politics. He loved to travel and spent his summers living in his motor home traveling between family and friends; rodeos and fiddling competitions and of course, casinos and bingo halls on both sides of the border. His greatest sport was finding the “Deal to beat all deals”. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 at 2:30 pm from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8909 Mary St., Chilliwack, BC. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
