July 1, 1941 - January 13, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hans Anton Mattmann. He was born July 1, 1941 in Switzerland. He went on his journey to a peaceful place on January 13, 2020 where there is no MS and pain.
He leaves behind his two sons, Werner and Marcel, their families, granddaughter Katrina, best friend and companion, Eva. He is also survived by his brother Tony and many friends in Switzerland and Canada.
As a young man, Hans made his way to Canada and eventually ended up in Invermere. He owned and operated Alpen Meats and Deli in downtown Invermere and retired in 1997.
His greatest passion was his cabin at Dunbar Lake where he spent many hours on the lake swimming, sailing, sunbathing, and entertaining.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses, doctors, and ambulance personnel for their excellent care and attention given to Hans. We appreciate everyone that touched Hans's life with kindness and respect.
Hans is predeceased by his parents, Werner and Lina; son, Ken; sister, Margarita; and his two brothers, Werner and Frank. There will be no memorial service as per Hans's request.
