Dave passed away peacefully on October 23rd, 2006 in the Marwood Extended Care home of the Langley Memorial Hospital.

Dave was born May 31, 1920, in Chilliwack General Hospital. He was preceded by his parents, Jack and Marion Vallance of Rosedale, BC.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret (60 years), daughters, Betty (Richard) Parker, Jean (Paul) Enock, son Jim and three grandchildren, Stuart and Andrew Parker and Larissa Enock.

Dave spent four years overseas in the Canadian Army during World War II, upon his return he was employed by BC Telephone Co. and remained with them for almost 35 years.

Dave got a great joy yearly by watching his vegetable garden grow and produce fresh vegetables and also was a great berry grower which kept the family in supply for the winter months. He spent many hours in the basement of their home refinishing furniture.

Dave and Margaret travelled many miles in their 5th wheel and also enjoyed their travels to Great Britain .

After 58 married years living in Chilliwack and Promontory, Dave and Margaret decided to move to Walnut Grove, Langley, to be closer to their family.

Dave was proud 60 year member and Past Master of Ionic Lodge No. 19, AF and AM. He became a member of Gizeh Shrine after his retirement with BC Tel.

At the age of 60, Dave took up learning and playing the Saxphone. He thoroughly enjoyed playing the Chilliwack Community Band, Gizeh Concert Band and the Fire Engine Band.
