With profound sadness and the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of our lovely mother, gramma, daughter, sister, friend, Gwen.
The second of six children born to Norman and Frieda Hanson, Gwen grew up in Agassiz, B.C. and spent most of her life in Chilliwack. She learned the magic of travel after visiting her kids in the UK and Taiwan.
Gwen is survived by her son Jeffrey (Yi-wen) and daughter Laureen Benton (Jamie), mother, sisters and brothers, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Norman Hanson in 1994, and husband of 39 years Rick Cuvilier in 2012.
Gwen was the most incredible Gramma and she leaves behind the apples of her eyes, Willow, Keira, and Mallory, Mathilda and Heath.
We are so grateful to Dr. Hirst for taking Gwen as a patient in her final months and to Lara Sampson and Lisa Shearer for their kindness, care and humour when most needed. Lastly, the Homecare nurses who helped Gwen realize her desire to remain at home were exceptionally lovely and caring. Thank you!
You are invited to join us in celebrating the life of a woman who was fun, patient, strong, and generous. In a spirit of celebration, the family also invites those attending to wear Gwen's favourite colour, yellow.
