Gustav “Gus” Boettcher passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 26, 2006 at Chilliwack, BC He was born in Germany August 23, 1938 and came to Canada at the age of 12 and has lived here all his life. Gus is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of 45 years , daughter, Loralie; granddaughter, Ashley Switzer, mother Herta Wolter, sister Lily Powell, a large extended family and many good friends. He was predeceased by his father Rudolph Boettcher in 1940 and his daughter Amanda Boettcher in August 2005.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack; pastor Nathan Hewitt officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday, May 3, 2006 from 12:30 to 1:30 . Interment at Chilliwack Cemetery following the service. Pall bearers will be Regan Hornung, Ed Fech, Garry Laser, Craig Kirkpatrick, Ruben Bilan and Ken Smatlak. Memorial donations to First Avenue Church of God Building Fund or to BC Cancer Foundation for Research would be appreciated.
