Deissner, Gunther
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gunther, he passed away suddenly on July 27, 2015 in Chilliwack General Hospital aged 86 years. He was born in Ostrau, Germany in 1928. He was predeceased by his parents Willi and Berta; brothers Hans & Rudolf; sister Christa. Gunther is survived by his loving wife Helene; son Pascal (Sally) and family from BC; his brothers Erhard (Trautel) and Karl-Heinz (Klara) and families in German. Gunther emigrated to Canada in 1953 working at the CP Hotels across Canada as a Baker. In BC he also worked for Gizella Pastry, Woodward's Bakery, Safeway and the ABC restaurant in Chilliwack. His specialty was wedding cakes which he loved making. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice in Gunther's name. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
