Sept. 28, 1923 – Dec. 3, 2010

Our dear and precious mommy, grammy and great-grammy has left this world after many years of suffering with diabetes and its complications. True to herself, she lived on her own until the end and remained independent.

Hilda was born in Hague, Saskatchewan to Russian immigrant parents. She had 2 siblings. Her life on the prairies was difficult, working the farm with her dad after her mother died too soon.

She married Peter in 1944 and they moved to BC, eventually settling in Squamish in 1953. They had 7 children. Her family lived with little, but mommy always made the best of everything. She faced unimaginable hardships but endured faithfully and built a lasting legacy of dignity, honour, selflessness, respect and love. She was the glue that bonded us together. She touched everyone she met in a meaningful way. Though we will miss her tremendously we also celebrate her life.

This world was not her home; she was but a stranger here. We look forward to the great and glorious day when we shall all meet again in Christ Jesus.

We don’t know how you did it but we are all so very proud of you mommy. You truly were one of a kind.

Unending gratitude to all at NU5N Chilliwack General, amazing, amazing human beings!
