February 17, 1943 - December 2, 2020
Grace was born on February 17, 1943 in the Netherlands. She was the 5th of 6 children. She adored her older sister Jeanette and baby brother Bill. At the age of 9 Grace immigrated to Ontario where she made a home in Woodstock. In 1961 she met the love of her life, Henry Kikkert, at a bible study class.
Henry knew she was the one and he would never let her go, they were married on March 26, 1965, and happily married for 55 years.
On January 06, 1966 they had their first child, Jennifer, and over the next 16 years they went on to have 8 more beautiful children.
Grace was amazing in so many ways, she was kind, patient, caring, giving, sweet, generous and extremely loving. Although she was only 5'2" tall, her huge selfless
ways made her a giant. She loved to do water aerobics and go on long walks.
Her gardens were plentiful, not a weed to be seen, all flowers blooming with her gentle touch. If you were lucky, you got to enjoy her blueberries, they were award winning!
Her daily routines were admired by all her children and grandchildren, everyone knew where to find her, whether it was her morning Walmart visits, McDonald coffee
meets, food court Mall Saturday Mornings or her sporadic Super store "just looking" adventures. She was patient, so much to look at, rarely spending any money, she was a master at stretching a dollar.
Grace enjoyed Tim Hortons, coffee and a doughnut with her hubby, Henry, Eggs Benedict and fish were foods she loved. Little House on the Prairie, the Walton's and
Wheel of Fortune were a daily must watch for Grace, she always had a Cross word puzzle on the go.
Her 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren always knew where to find her candy stash, the pop and of course, Ice Cream. Grace always hosted Thanksgiving and
Christmas with her family having up to 50 people at one time, she always had plenty of food for everyone and so much love.
Grace is survived by her loving husband Henry, her 9 children Jennifer (Barry), Harry (Roxanne) Freda (Ryan) Karen, Jeff (deceased) Cindy (Herman) Tammy (Donny) Henry (Kerri) and Gregg (Natasha) Her 20 grandchildren Travis, Kyle, Johnny, Brandon, Tristan, Kelaynna, Colton, Aiden, Emma, Katelyn, August, Blake, Samantha, Anna, Spencer, Tori, Domanic, McKenzie, Nixon and Summer Her 2 Great Grandchildren Cohen and Kaiden.
