Gottfried (Fred) Wagner passed away on March 14, 2003 at Chilliwack - Eden Care Centre, at age 93 years. He was born July 9, 1909 in Wing, N.D., USA.
Fred is survived by daughters, Margaret (Len) Hepting of Chilliwack, and Ruby (Bob) Grant of Toronto, Ont.; son-in-law John Koop of Pitt Meadows; five grandchildren, Donald, Arthur, Judy, Colleen, and Marlane; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister Frieda Scheffelmair of Castor, Alta.; 10 sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.
He was predeceased by his first wife Marie; his eldest daughter Clara; his second wife Margarete; one great-grandchild; his parents; seven brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Mar. 21, 2003 at 1 p.m. from Evangelical Missionary Church, 9310 Williams St., Chilliwack, Pastor Glen Fretz officiating. Burial will take place Tuesday, Mar. 18, 2003 at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
Fred went to be with the Lord while at Eden Care Centre. The family wishes to thank the staff at Eden Care and Dr. R. MacLeod for their care and services.
Fred farmed and worked as a boat finisher, did carpentry work, and loved fishing. He was a faithful member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church (now EMC).
