Gladys was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland on Aug 7, 1940.
She went on to marry a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and spent many years overseas.
Gladys loved singing, fashion, music and dancing, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Nana/Grandma passed away quietly after a brief battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her loving mother Mary Barry, brothers Simmy and Harvey Barry, her brother-in-law, William Dwernichuk, and her son-in-law Robert Gerbrandt.
Gladys is survived by her sons, James and Paul Wilhite, her daughter, Natile (Eric) Grasslin, her grandchildren Jennifer (Jordan), Randall Grasslin, Stephen and Gregory Wilhite and Rachel Elizabeth Gerbrandt. She is also survived by her siblings Teresa (Linwood) Wixson, Brenda (Ken) Tebo, Joan Dwernichuk, and Carmie Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society or the Battered Women’s Shelter are appreciated.
There will be a small private Celebration of Life tea held on Friday, November 12, 2010.
