GILLES CORBEIL

Gilles Corbeil late of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003 at the Vancouver General Hospital with his wife at his side. Gilles was born in Montreal, Quebec, February 15, 1945.

Funeral services for Gilles were held at 1 p.m. on Friday Aug. 29, from the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack with Major Angus Haggarty officiating. Burial followed at the Chilliwack Cemeteries.

Gilles will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 35 years Janice; and two daughters, Lisa (Barry) Kouwenhoven of Chilliwack, and Michelle (Steve) Prouse of Kamloops; grandchildren, Aren, Connor, Julia and Kyle; as well as his brothers, Michel (Johanne) Corbeil of Montreal, and Richard (France) Corbeil of Montreal; and sister Francine Corbeil of Montreal; his nieces and nephews; many relatives and friends; and his faithful pal Annabelle.

He was predeceased by his parents, Philippe and Berthe Corbeil.

Gilles served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 26 years, mainly as a Field Engineer and a Structural Technician. Most recently he was a custodian at University College of the Fraser Valley. He was a member of Sons of Scotland, Fraser Glen Camp #220.
