Gilberte (Gibby) Solange JANICKI (nee Percher)

December 15, 2003

Gilberte (Gibby) Solange Janicki (nee Percher) passed away tragically in a car accident on December 15, 2003. She was born in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan on October 13, 1918 and moved, with her family, to Rosedale in 1936. There she met and married Fred, her husband of 64 years. Together they had three sons, Dorwin (Donna) of Kamloops, Leonard (Mary Ann) of Campbell River and Gerald (Lindsey) of Victoria, all of whom survive her. Gibby is also survived by her sister, Alice Fedoruk and brother, Robert Percher, both of Chilliwack. Her parents, Henri and Sidonie Percher, predeceased her. Chilliwack was home until 1963, when they moved to Trail for one year. In 1964, they moved to Kamloops and returned to Chilliwack in 2000. Gibby cherished her relationship with her beloved sister Alice and her brother Bob. She was completely devoted to her children and grandchildren who were her true passion and joy. She had a spunky, optimistic zest for life, an adventurous spirit and enjoyed many traveling escapades with her sister to Europe, parts of Canada and the United States. Gibby will be fondly remembered and respected for her admirable unconditional love, honesty, determination, kindness, generosity, friendship and wonderful sense of humour. She had a playful nature, which will forever kindle warm thoughts and bring smiles to those who knew and loved her so. A Memorial service will be held Saturday January 17, 2004 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack B.C.
