Gerry Kellington

With sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Gerry Kellington on November 4, 2016 in Chilliwack. Gerry is survived by his brothers, Wayne (Pat) Kellington and Blair Kellington; his children, Terry Kellington and Alison Fitzsimmons; grandchildren, Brad, Scott and Mike Fitzsimmons and Evan and Colin Kellington. Also by his good friend Sharron and beloved dog, Koki. He is predeceased by his parents John and Monica Kellington and his son-in-law Bob Fitzsimmons. Gerry was born in 1941 in the small town of Bienfait, Saskatchewan. He moved to Chilliwack with his family as a young teenager and immediately excelled in numerous sports. His finest moment being in 1957 as a young high schooler helping his fellow “Frontiersmen” upset the #1 ranked team in the BC High school Basketball Tournament. He later went on to coach and sponsor local men's fastball and boy's baseball, hockey and lacrosse teams for many years. Gerry had a long career in the automotive industry and truly cherished all the friends and acquaintances he made over all those years. A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 19th between 2-5pm at the Åtchelitz Hall on Lickman Rd. In lieu of flowers those wishing can donate to the, Gerry Kellington Baseball Scholarship Fund: 9232 Young Rd, Chilliwack, BC, V2P 4R2.
