George Onofreychuk passed away on March 15, 2009 at Chilliwack General Hospital at 89 years. He was born January 2, 1920 in McNutt, Saskatchewan.
George is survived by his daughters: Gail Vodden (Paul) and Sharon Hall (Rob); grandsons: Mark, Cody and Luc; great-granddaughter, Haley; sister, Rose Federowich.
He was predeceased by his wife Louise, brother William, sisters Mary and Betty.
George was born to Ukrainian immigrants in a small Saskatchewan farming community. He and his wife Louse raised their young family in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, moving to Chilliwack in 1969.
He worked for the Chilliwack Woolworth’s store until he retired in 1986. He was respected by his friends and loved by his family for his work ethic, dedication, and quiet smile.
A Graveside Service will be held March 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Chilliwack Cemeteries, 10010 Hillcrest Drive, Chilliwack B.C.
