1932-2009

George Helfrick passed away peacefully on October 12, 2009 at the Bradley Centre, Chilliwack, BC at the age of 77 years.

George was born in Maklin, Sask, and moved with his family to the Peace River country of Alberta at the age of 2. He was the 13th child of a family of 15. As an adult, George was a diamond driller for many years, working in exploration drilling all over BC and the Yukon. George finished his career with Westmin Resources out of Campbell River. He was a happy person and was well-liked by everyone who knew him.

George will be sadly missed by his spouse Jeanette, his two step-sons, Gordon and Donald and his three children, David, Darlene and Gordon; his grandchildren, Jasmin, Krystal, Katie, Derek, Wayne, Dennis, Jay, Shaun and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Denzil, Malcolm, Jaida and Jherzey-Lynn; brothers and sisters Adam, Phil, Mona, Marge, Paul, Emily, Vinnie, Leona and Larry. George was predeceased by his parents, George and Geniveve and his brothers, Joe, Pete, Jack and Jerry and sister Minnie.

A Memorial Service and Tea will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:30pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack, BC; Pastor Tim Rowan officiant.
