It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Hanna. George was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to Canada in 1952 with the love of his life, Anne.

George attended the College of Technology, Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he became a mechanical engineer. George was highly regarded in his profession, spending 33 years in the pulp mill industry. His career also included work as a marine design engineer, three years with the department of National Defense working on prototype military vehicles, and 5 years as a draftsman apprentice in the Belfast shipyards. George’s career has taken him from Northern Ireland and across Canada including New Brunswick, Quebec, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.

George is lovingly remembered by Anne his wife of 63 years, his two daughters Linda (Len) Toop of Chilliwack, Christine (Craig) Andrichuk of Penticton, grandchildren Crystal Ryall, Jennifer Ryall, Bailey Andrichuk, Dustin Andrichuk, and great granddaughters Jayda Ryall and Olivia Ryall.

George was known for his love of family, horses, travel and boats. He was a generous and charitable man, who was known for his strong opinions. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

We would like to thank Dr. Fitzpatrick, Fran, the Homecare Aids and the many nurses at Chilliwack General who helped us all through this difficult time.

A service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church located at 6904 Lougheed Hwy, Agassiz BC on Friday June 24, 2016 at 10 am.
