It is with great sorrow that we have lost our dear husband and father, George Fast. George passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2010 in his home with his family by his side. He put up a courageous battle against lung cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife Frieda of 49 years, daughters Sandra (Elmer), Karen (Henry), grandchildren Brittney, Nicole, Garret and Stephanie. Also survived by his sisters Frieda, Hilda (Bob), step-brother Henry (Carol) and Aunt Betty and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Gloria and brother Harry.
George was born on May 14th 1935 in Yarrow. He grew up in Yarrow and lived there most of his life. He met his wife Frieda in 1958 and they were married in February 1961. He worked as an accountant for Epp Brothers, Canada Packers and Kish Equipment during his 50 years of accounting. George’s passion was golfing. He was a member of Chilliwack Golf and Country Club for many years.

A Viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 25th 2010 from 8-9:00 p.m. from Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack. Services for George will be held on Friday, March 26th 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
