George William Derksen passed away on December 28, 2004 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 75. He was born in Saskatchewan on August 29, 1929. He is survived by his loving wife, Clara, of 52 years and their children; daughter, Janet (David) Granger of Chilliwack, and 2 sons, Doug (Kathleen) of Abbotsford and Richard (Annette) of Chilliwack. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 brothers; Hank (Myrtle), John (Frieda) and Pete and 3 sisters; Kay Rempel, Margaret Janzen and Frieda (Aaron) Roehn and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Jake and 1 sister Elizabeth. A family graveside service was held at the Chilliwack Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Pentland officiating. On January 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm a tea will be held in the Tea Room at Henderson’s. Donations may be made to the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation, 4480 Oak Street, B321, Vancouver, BC, V6H 3V4.
