George Arthur BEAMIN

George Arthur Beamin passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003 at Agassiz at the age of 90 years. He was born October 16, 1912 in Lymington, England.

George came to Canada from England at the age of 15 and worked at a nursery in Manitoba, later moving to British Columbia where he worked for Eddie’s Nursery. George had many jobs including working for the Municipality of Chilliwack, S & W Construction and later his own company, Valley Aggregates.

He was active with Job’s Daughters, Mason’s, Eastern Star, Shriners, and also coached the Atchelitz Girls softball team for several years.

He will be missed by his family and many, many friends.

George is survived by his wife Chris; sister Mary in England; daughter Sharon (Wayne); sons, Charles (Mary Ellen), and Brook (Sandra); grandchildren, Scott (Kerry), Cheryl (Dennis), Ryan (Joanne), and Craig (Carly); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Corey, Blair, Cole, Sam, and Riley; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers, Don, Jim, and Charles; and sister Katherine.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at 10 a.m. from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack with Father Tassinari officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C. Children’s Hospital, 4480 Oak St., Vancouver, B.C.
