George Younie passed away on November 22, 2021 at his residence in Chilliwack, BC. He was born June 15, 1948 in Chilliwack, the son of George and Elizabeth Younie. George is survived by his mother, Betty Younie, his brothers Bryon Younie (Norma), Robert Younie (Lisa) and his sister Jo-Anne Plowright (Bob). He was predeceased by his father, George Younie.
George grew up on a raspberry farm in Chilliwack. In later years, off the farm, he was the master potato peeler at his family's restaurant and always enjoyed the social aspect of restaurant work. He loved to tease people and joke with his co- workers and friends. When the family moved, he met new neighbourhood friends and with his brother, Rob, and these new friends, played street hockey for hours on end.
George was fortunate to reside at Wilmada Place since 1998, where he enjoyed gardening, sitting in the backyard and social outings. He loved holidays, parties, music and movies. The care he received at Wilmada Place was exceptional and he loved the time he spent there and the friends he made.
