Geoff Tunnicliffe

Born December 9, 1927 in England. Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side March 13, 2007. Survived by his loving wife Jean and daughters, Shirley and Anne, his son Geoff, sons-in-law, Brian and Tawn and daughter-in-law, Jewel, loving grandchildren, Paul, Mark, Geoffrey, Katie, Justin, Natasha, Paul (Laura) and great grandchildren, William, Zoe, Kikasuw and Charlene. He is also survived by his older brother Wilfred and predeceased by his sisters, Edith, Muriel and Olive. In 1947 he married the love of his life, “his sparrow” as he loved to call her and remained happily married for 59 years. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1967, Geoff served with the Royal Air Force and as a journeyman-carpenter. In Canada, he ran several successful contracting companies and worked for the federal government at Vancouver International Airport. All of his life he was a passionate gardener and meticulous craftsman. His prize-winning rose garden was a wonderful sight for all to behold. For 36 years he faithfully participated in the Masonic Lodge (past-master of Mount Zion Lodge) and the Eastern Star (past patron 4 times). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 18th at 3 pm at Masonic Hall, 45905 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Cancer research or the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, M.I.P. Box 3745, Markham, ON L3R 0Y4.
