Garry Lee Hartlyn Buhler

November 9, 2005

Nov 5, 1948 - Nov 9, 2005

It is with immense sadness that we announce his passing.

Garry was born in Chilliwack and attended Sardis & Chilliwack schools. Over the years, having lived in Williams Lake, Prince George, Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Calgary and Ottawa, he made his final home in Valemount, where he had met and married the love of his life. Garry had travelled extensively, all across Canada, through the U.S. on ‘route 66’, Mexico and Europe. He had hiked the ‘Westcoast Trail’. Many friends were made along the way and his understanding and compassion for others helped form the wonderful person he was.

He had a lifelong passion for photography, camera always nearby. A professional shepherd was one of his accomplishments, taking him to Valemount, where he met Mary. Being a kind person, he had a love of animals which led to hobby farming. Their acreage was a wonderful refuge, always a pleasure to visit. Garry had just sold his store, ‘Raven Office Supplies’, a business that had earned him ‘Entrepreneur of the year’ and was concentrating on an addition to their home. Other recent accomplishments, director and past president of the Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Tete Jaune Community Club, contributed to bring the internet to the area (major task), produced a coffee shop newspaper ‘the Raven Rant’ and was a contributing news writer and photographer to the community newspaper. At the time of his passing, Garry had been working on the family geneology, reflecting his love of family.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Mary Stewart, son Trevor Stewart. 3 daughters, Casey Buhler, (grandson Adam) Danielle Buhler & Farrah Buhler. Mother Belle (Abe) Neufeld, brothers and sisters, Ken Buhler (son Danny), Bob (Sue) Buhler (Jordan & Michael), Debbie (Jeff) McKay (Calvin, Robin & Nathan) Allan Neufeld, the late Dennis (Yvonne) Neufeld, (Harley, Christina & Chad), Nancy (Rick) Chelczynski (Michelle & Alec) father, Hartley (Diana) Buhler, (Leah & Marvin) and many others.
