Mr. Garfield Pohl of High River, Alberta passed away at the High River Hospital on October 10, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Garfield is survived by his loving wife Carol; son Sheldon Pohl (Lana) & daughter-Lori Tinnion (Jim); grandchildren Amy, Megan & Hannah Pohl, Jack, Samuel, Bethany & Ivy Tinnion; sister Doris (Jack), Berry, sister Myrna (Herb) McCormack and brother Darrell (Gloria) Pohl, numerous nieces and Nephews and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his father John Pohl, mother Bertha Pohl and sister Arlene Mason.
Garfield was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan and moved to British Columbia for work. He married Carol in Chilliwack and raised his family there while working as a park ranger for BC Parks. He was involved in the Pentecostal Church and loved teaching Sunday School to preschoolers. In 2005 he moved to Alberta to be closer to his grandchildren and still carried on the role of a Sunday School teacher in his local church. This past June he celebrated his 50th Wedding anniversary with Carol. He will be remembered by his generosity of time and money. Garfield continued to grow in his relationship with his Savior until the day he passed into His presence. You will be missed Grandpa Garfield.
A celebration of life for Garfield will take place on October 28, 2018 at the Full Gospel Church in High River, Alberta at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow at the church.
