PHILLIPS, Galen Murray
On July 20, 2016, Galen Phillips passed away at Rocky Mountain House Centre at the age of 77 years. He was born February 4, 1939 to Bill and Murrie Phillips in Brooks, Alberta and spent his youth in the Grande Prairie area. He enlisted in the Navy and served for a short period in time. Once home, he started driving long haul truck which would be his calling and continued until retirement. He travelled all over North America and loved what he did. He was athletic and loved all sports but golf was his passion and would play every day when he was home. He had many good memories of time spent with friends at the Pine Hills Golf Course.
Galen is survived by his children Debbie, Darryl (Wendy) & Bill (Jen), the mother of his children (Kathleen), and grandchildren, Ashley (Erik), Haley, Adam, Stephanie (Niko), Michael, Emma, Sarah (Luc), his brother Jim, and special friends Earl, Lloyd, Jeff and Jill in Rocky Mountain house who looked out for him over the years. He is predeceased by his wife Jody Phillips, his mother Murrie and father Bill, sister Sharon, and brother Gary. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, there will be no service at Galen's request.
