It is with great sadness that we announce that Frederick Charles Boylan passed away peacefully at home in Chilliwack BC on February 28, 2022, with his beloved wife of 65 years, Isobel at his side.
Born July 15, 1934, in Aberdeen Scotland, Fred was predeceased by his mother Isabella and father Frederick.
Fred is survived by his wife Isobel, children Steve, Cheryl, and Jeff, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and brothers Charlie and Phil.
After serving 16 years in the British Royal Air Force (RAF), Fred emigrated to Canada to start a new life with his family.
In Canada Fred tried his hand at a few different careers, the first at General Motors and finally with Prudential Financial. Fred loved soccer; coaching various teams, including the BC Canada Games teams to 2 gold medals, in 1977 and 1981.
After retirement to Chilliwack, he developed a keen interest in writing and performing in musical and comedy plays with his fellow ‘Cottonwood Castoffs’.
Fred had a great sense of humor and loved to trade jokes with friends online. He will be remembered as a man who was passionate about his wife, family, and long-time friends all over the world, including the 49ers Corporal’s Club from the RAF.
Family and friends will honour Fred’s life in a celebration of life at 11 am on Saturday April 9, 2022, at the clubhouse in the Cottonwood Retirement Village, 7610 Evans Road, Chilliwack BC. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Fred’s memory would be .appreciated.
Always loved, never forgotten.
