‘Fran’ passed away peacefully with family on March 21, 2009 at the age of 95.

She was born Feb. 14, 1914 in Teeswater, Ontario to Eva and Reginald Ecclestone. She grew up in Armstrong, British Columbia and married Harry “Jack” Stevens in 1936. Fran and Jack spent their early years of marriage in Kelowna and Keremeos. They lived in Vancouver prior to making Chilliwack their family home in 1950. Fran was a proud mother, grandmother and cherished friend to many.

She is predeceased by her parents, Jack, and son Jimmy. She is survived by her daughter Judy Davies and husband William H. Davies, Q.C., grandson Steven, granddaughter Jacklyn and husband Duane, and her beloved Ginger.

Fran loved friends, adventure and was up to many challenges. She obtained her private pilot’s license in the late 40’s, designed clothes, embraced the world of selling real estate and was a member of the PEO Sisterhood and Rotary Anns. Fran looked forward to spending time with family and friends whether on the golf course, playing bridge, a cocktail before dinner, or sitting by the window at Chain Lake finishing a puzzle.

Our family thanks Dr. Paul Basson and the nursing staff at the Chilliwack General Hospital for their kind care and attention to Fran, with a special thank-you to granddaughter #2, Anita. She cherished her friends at Edenbank, Waverly and many who were so kind to her.

Our family will hold a private service in remembrance. We invite Fran’s friends to join us in a celebration of her life at the Edenbank clubhouse on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 4 pm to 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Chilliwack Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
