Fouad Mikhail passed away on September 28, 2008 at the Bradley Centre, Chilliwack General Hospital at age 94 years. He was born June 4, 1914. Fouad is survived by his son, Issam Tewfik, daughter, Jihan Tewfik and granddaughters, Salma and Christie Tewfik. He was predeceased by Fatma Yazdi, his wife who passed away in 1994.
Fouad was born a coptic Egyptian Christian who believed in the Baha’i Faith when he was in his 20’s, inspite of bitter opposition from his family. He remained a staunch believer until his last breath. He was a civil engineer in Egypt, he immigrated to Canada in 1968 to escape prosecution in Egypt for his beliefs. He endured the hardship of life for new immigrants but he survived.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 1:30 pm from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack, BC. Interment will follow at Vedderview Gardens Cemetery.
