Floyd Hector BLOW

November 14, 2004

(October 23, 1919-November 14, 2004)

Floyd Hector Blow passed away peacefully with his daughter, Darlene, at his side, in Moog & Friends Hospice House in Penticton, B.C.

He leaves to mourn, Florence, his wife and ‘Angel’ of 63 years; his son Bill (Pat); his daughter Darlene (Rex); his granddaughters, Trisha (Ryan), Wilma and Kimberly; great-grandson Dean; sister-in-law Dorothy (Ray); brother-in-law Alex (Frieda); and many nieces and nephews.

Floyd was a kind, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Floyd was born in Chilliwack, where he farmed until joining the RCAF in 1941, the same year as his marriage to Florence Lubin. After his discharge from the RCAF in 1943, Floyd worked for Boeing Aircraft building bomber fuselages until the end of the war.

Floyd and Florence then moved to Victoria, B.C. with their infant son, Bill, where Floyd worked for the Shore Patrol/Dockyard for 29 years until his retirement in 1974. Floyd and Florence occupied themselves with raising their two children, participating in many family activities with parents and siblings, and moving (Floyd bought and sold many houses!). In 1974, Penticton became their new home. During their retirement they took many extended trips to California and other parts of the USA, where they made many new and valued friends.

Cremation. Private interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens in Victoria, when Floyd will be reunited with his parents and two brothers, Les and Lyal.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Floyd’s name to Moog & Friends Hospice House, or the charity of your choice.
