Florence Marie Searcy

August 20, 1932 - October 23, 2022
Surrounded by the love of her family, Florence Marie Searcy was reunited with those that passed before her, the love of her life, Ted Searcy, son David, and parents Leo and Leona Hammond (nee Desormeaux). Born at home to French-speaking parents in Maillardville, BC. Mom grew up in simpler times. We in turn grew up with weekly baking, bunny birthday cakes (with coins inside), home canned fruit, and a childhood of camping adventures with our extended family. Mom still found time to have a successful fulltime career at Nabob Foods.
Our family brought her great joy, and a few outrageous challenges. She loved us through it all. Her children, Keith (Vicki) Biggs, Karen Stromgren, Joanne (Colin) Maxwell, David Biggs (deceased) gave her 8 beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer, Rob (Ana), Eric, Laura (Alym), Michael, Melissa (Dave), Jennifer (Bryan), Amanda and Amy. They in turn gave her 14 adorable great-grandchildren Liam, Sadie-Grace, Tyla, Calla, Kianna, Mia, Reid, Sean, Joel, Leona, Julia, Isaiah, Adrian and Margot.
She is survived by her sisters Marina Pellerin and Debbie Nielsen, countless extended family members and innumerable cherished friends including Mary-Lou, Sandy and her friends at PLE.
Mom was bold and brave. She was so generous to everyone she met and touched more lives than we can imagine. She had true grit with never a complaint. Mom was hilarious with an iconic laugh. She devoted all her love to her family and cherished her babies very much. We will miss her beyond words.
Join us on Sunday, November 6th from 1-4pm, for a celebration of Mom's life at The Clubhouse, Promontory Lake Estates, 6001 Promontory Road, Chilliwack.
