Florence HOEPPNER

April 9, 2013

(nee Otto)

Florence passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the age of 82, after four years with a gradually crippling condition and a brief period of palliative care. She is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of her Lord.

Florence was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Jacob; her son, Jim; and her sister, Elsie Uren. She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Hoeppner and Lois Comeault (Art); five grandchildren: Pamela, Braden (Melanie), Aaron, Joel (Tiffany), and Danielle; and three great-grandchildren: Emma, Lily, and Kazja.

Florence’s life was poured out in loving, faithful service: first of all to Jesus, her Lord and Saviour; next, to her family; and to friends, neighbours and strangers. She had a servant heart, her life exemplifying the childhood song, “Jesus and Others and You, what a wonderful way to spell JOY…”.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to those who helped in caring for their mother during her last years: to the community health workers and home health nurses from Fraser Cheam Home Support, to the staff of the NetCARE Day Program at Parkholm Place, to Dr. Boshoff, and to the Chilliwack Hospital staff and palliative care team.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Central Community Church (Cascade Room), 46100 Chilliwack Central Road. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the NetCARE Day Program. (Receipt available with clear address.)
