Dobbin, Fergus Wendell
It is with great sadness the family of Fergie announce his passing on Monday, July 27, 2015.
He was born January 26, 1940 in Kingston ON, and grew up in Napanee ON. Dad served a short stint in the army and was a jack of all trades but most importantly he was a father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Fergie married Linda Lavallee in the spring of 1963 and became a father to two daughters and a son. After moving to BC he married Carol Ann Giffen in 1995. He became stepfather to another two children.
Dad enjoyed many things in life, big and small, with hockey being his first passion and golf coming in a close second. He was an active Lions Club member with the Dogwood Monarch Lions Club and enjoyed being part of all the activities.
He was predeceased by his wife Carol Ann in February 2014. Left to mourn him are his loving family. Daughter Jacquie; son Tom Dobbin; daughter Kathy (Shane Gallinger) Dobbin; daughter Carol Ann (Ben) Laflamme; son Mark Giffin; grandchildren Jason, Sheena, Amanda, Jamie-Lynn, Daylan, Joseph, Catherine, Nathaniel, Stanley and great granddaughter Jeanie.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, august 1, 2015 from 2-4pm at the Mount Cheam Lions Club Hall, 45580 Spadina Ave, Chilliwack.
The family would like to extend a big thank you to the Dogwood Monarch Lions Club for their support, assistance, and friendship provided to Dad. We also as a family would like to thank them for giving our father a great send off. Our hearts and prayers are with you Dad.
