Ferdinand Hirch passed away in his home on December 28, 2012 in his 99th year. His dear wife Lydia predeceased him and went to be with the Lord in 2006.
He is survived by his only son, Rev. Waldemar Hirch and his wife Herta, missionaries to Brazil; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Michelle and Rev. Wes Daase and Patricia, Lucas & Katrina of Surrey; Barbara and Bernie Kunkel and Jessica, Alyssa & Justin of Delta; Jefferson and Janda Hirch and Julia & Christopher of Chilliwack; Simone and Rev. Phil Mittelstaedt and Isaiah, Jaden & Hannah of Vancouver; Jonathan and Cindi Hirch and Florentina of Abbotsford. He is also survived by his youngest brother Paul Hirch and wife Wilhelmine of Germany; his in-laws Fritz and Ruth Kowalski of Germany; sister-in-law Thea Kowalski of Langley; many nieces and nephews in Canada, US and Germany, as well as friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Ferdinand lived a full and blessed life serving the Lord.
A Service of Remembrance, celebrating his life will be held at the Central Pentecostal Church, 9535 Williams St, Chilliwack on Saturday, 12th of January at 2:00 PM; officiated by Rev. Rod Bitterman. Refreshments will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the missionary work (info available at service) in Brazil.
