It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and friend on August 17, 2003 at the age of 83 years. Evelyn was born April 17, 1920 in St. Elmo, B.C. and lived most of her life in Chilliwack.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Edward Higgins in 1988; and son Terrence (Terry) Charles Higgins in 1967.
She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her son Steven Edward Higgins of Calgary, Alta., and many dear friends.
Mom was a longtime member of the Chilliwack United Church who will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her compassion, strength, determination, and kind heart. She loved music (especially her piano and accordian), and could often be found relaxing in a favourite chair, listening to her old records, and took great pleasure in feeding and watching the birds. She will be forever admired as a loving caregiver who touched the lives of many.
A funeral service will be held at the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jack Horricks officiating. A memorial tea to follow in the Church parlor of the Chilliwack United Church at 12:00 noon.
