1941 – 2009
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother (Grandmother) Evelyn Dedels. Mom passed away peacefully in the company of her family after a brief battle with cancer on Jan 7th, 2009. Evelyn was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1941. She moved to Calgary at the age of 6 where she met her first and only love Edward whom she married at the age of 18. It was in 1965 when the young family moved to BC. After raising her children Evelyn went to work at the Best Western where she worked for 20 years until her retirement. Evelyn is survived by her best friend Edward, her sister Ruth (Gary) Ried, her sons Allan, John and Howard, Grandchildren Cory ( Cara), Jennifer (Jeff), Jeremy, Fred, George, Rudy and Zachary, Great grandchildren Sean, Hailee, Alyssa and Riley, and many nieces, nephews and friends. An open house celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 17th from 2pm – 6pm at the Best Western Hotel in the Oak Room.
