April 13, 1918-April 11, 2013

Evelina was born in Podolsk, Russia. At the age of 8, together with her family, she moved to Provost, Alberta and later to Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan. She married John Klassen May 2, 1937 and shortly after they moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Mom and Dad farmed on Blackburn Road, Lickman Road and McGuire Road before retiring in town. Dad struggled with health issues for many years and Mom spent her love and energy taking care of him. The high cost of medical care made it necessary for her to work outside the home and she spent many years working first at York Farms and later Fraser Valley Frosted Foods. Her retirement years were spent knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking for her family. Mom will be missed by her family: Daughters Dorothy (Ben) Baerg and Velma (Frank) Ens; 6 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandsons and many other family members and friends. Her services were held Tuesday, April 16, 2013. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the management and staff of Chilliwack Lifestyle and Bradley Centre for the care Evelina received.
